We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Engineer to join our team at our headquarters in Bergen, Norway.

Corvus Energy is a front-runner in digital solutions for the Maritime battery industry. Our team is responsible for utilizing (+100TB) operational data from more than 400 vessels across the globe. We build models and algorithms for near real-time proactive monitoring, analytics, and advanced advisory services. Key technologies for the position are currently Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Factory, IoT Hub and various API integrations. However, we are looking for a senior Data Engineer that will play a key role in re-evaluating and choosing future technologies to meet our growing needs in terms of data volumes and quality in order to facilitate reliable, robust and efficient deliveries. Following a new, ambitious digital strategy, we’re strengthening the team to accelerate our journey.

You will join an enthusiastic team of 3 Data Scientists and a Business Developer + several consultants (full stack + analytics) working full time with us. As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for our databases and data lake in Azure Cloud, including architecture strategy. You will also work closely with the Global IT department.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Take ownership of our field data ingestion. Improve and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes.
  • Take ownership of data modelling, especially related to timeseries and control system data from operational energy storage systems and our robotic factory lines.
  • Be the representative from the digital department regarding future Cloud Architecture development according to business requirements.
  • Establish and maintain API Solutions for both internal and external customers.
  • Development of new data handling routines, data quality strategies and data collection approaches.
  • Maintain infrastructure to run digital twins (of battery cells) and facilitate efficient product development utilizing digital twins, e.g. in proactive monitoring schemes.
  • Software tools and App Development.

Work experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience from a similar field.
  • We would like someone who takes initiative, is self-managed and highly motivated by the opportunity to take Corvus to the Digital next level.
  • We would like you to have a relevant degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Cybernetics or equivalent.
  • Experience with handling of industrial Big Data.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
  • Experience with data modelling, machine learning and predictive modelling.
  • Self-motivated and structured, with an eye for both detail and the overall perspective.
  • High working standard and work capacity.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Can identify relevant information from uncertain and incomplete sources.
  • Drive and adaptability to fit in with a growing company.
