Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for uptime of process, ancillary, and facilities equipment. Ensure all equipment is safe to operate and lead continuous improvement efforts for the team.
  2. Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  3. Ensure team members and contractors work safely and comply with all safety policies.
  4. Maintain drawings and ISO compliant maintenance records for site equipment.
  5. Identify chronic yield, uptime, and productivity issues, and implement corrective actions.
  6. Assist with budget preparation.
  7. Implement preventive and predictive maintenance to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  8. Prepare cost justifications for projects.
  9. Participate in identifying and developing training to ensure the department has the skills needed to support the business.
  10. Support and champion safety initiatives.
  11. Maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance, and process excellence.
  12. Assist with site regulatory compliance.
  13. Partner with Operations Team for clarification and additional information as needed.
  14. Originate and process emergency work orders when needed.
  15. Validate and document all modifications made to equipment.
  16. Assist in writing and updating standard maintenance procedures.
  17. Familiarize self with new equipment and assist in training other technicians.
  18. Stay informed of process changes affecting normal operation of the equipment.
  19. Assist with large installations and equipment modification projects.
  20. Maintain a team effort attitude and approach.
  21. Lead and support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades.
  22. Lead 6s and TPM initiatives.
  23. Understand and implement strategic management aspects of reliability engineering.
  24. Plan for reliability programs and integrate various engineering and operational systems.
  25. Develop models to analyze and predict performance using block diagrams, physics of failure, and simulations.
  26. Develop reliability test plans that represent the expected use environment and operational conditions.
  27. Identify, collect, analyze, and manage data to minimize failures and improve performance.
  28. Provide backup for Maintenance Leader and train designated backup and others in all tasks.
  29. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Limited supervision received; backup for Maintenance Team Lead.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred. Must have a combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:
  1. Professional certification (TPM, CMRT or other relevant certification).
  2. Six Sigma Black or Green Belt.
  3. OSHA 10 Hour Certification.
  4. Certified or eligible to become certified in CPR/First Aid/BBP.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Maintenance, Reliability, or related field.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment and on the plant floor with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping, and stretching, manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish letters, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and the use of office equipment.

Equipment: Knowledge of and skills in the use of office machines (computer and copier) and business procedures. Manufacturing equipment to include extrusion equipment, winders, instrumentation & controls, robotic equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other normal manufacturing tools.

Work Environment: Job functions will be performed in and around production lines, warehouse, silos, pumping stations, and office areas.

Internal and External Contacts: This position will interface with the plant workforce and management team, and may interact with outside contractors as needed.
