Job Role: Design Quality Engineer
Duration: 6+Months
Location: Jacksonville, FL
DQE – Design Quality Support Will be assisting with remediation of DHF and RMF (Risk Management File) associated deliverables (i.e. FMEAs & other risk management files).
- Working with Development Engineers to develop, review and approve the below items from the DHF & RMF:
o Use Specifications and User Needs
o Design inputs / Design Interactions
o Design verification & Validations
o Product Specifications & CTQs (Critical To Quality Features)
o Risk Control Measures
o FMEAs
- Experience with Print Reading & GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience supporting DHF remediation, Risk management remediation, design transfer activities, etc.
Job Description:
Responsible for the design, development, and processing of implants and instruments under the direction of a project leader or manager. Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills are essential. An understanding of human physiology and joint mechanics is required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Designing for manufacturability, inspectibility, and optimum cost
Generating prototype models to evaluate new design concepts
Coordinating product evaluation with surgeons
Generating comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the product
Generating design assurance documentation for the project
Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs):
Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric differences and tolerancing
Active participation in development meetings with surgeons and key Zimmer personnel
Ability to effectively work within a team to expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional groups
Helping to identify customer requirements for a new product
Establishing a process method which meets performance and quality requirements
