Description
Join our team as a Civil Engineer 3 in our Land Development Team.
As an Engineer 3 in our Land Development Team, you will develop a broad knowledge and skills in land development engineering, focusing on site planning and design for industrial, commercial, and residential developments. You will evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform tasks for conventional projects with few complex features. You will use your judgment to adapt methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments and apply principles of probability and statistics to determine risk relevant to engineering.
Your responsibilities fall into the following broad areas:
Technical Responsibilities:
- Perform moderate design tasks and collect data for site planning and design projects.
- Prepare portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents.
- Conduct research and field investigations, including observing construction activities.
- Assist with the preparation and production of engineering deliverables.
- Analyze and interpret test data.
- May assist or perform CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
Program, Project, and Task Management:
- Work as part of a team to plan and coordinate aspects of engineering work.
- Assist in determining schedule and budget requirements.
- Manage personal tasks and adhere to deadlines and scope.
- Prepare and assist with developing scopes, budgets, and schedules for projects.
- Assist with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for projects.
Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership:
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate assertiveness and cooperation in managing conflicts.
- Interact with internal and external project team members.
- Demonstrate empathy and critical listening skills.
- Engage in project stakeholder interactions and meetings.
- Assist with official communication pertaining to specific assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program required.
- Master's degree optional.
- Engineer-in-Training certification required.
- Professional Engineer license preferred.
- Minimum of six years of relevant experience, including internships.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Commitment to lifelong learning to maintain knowledge on contemporary issues.
