What is the FTS-GSS AD Team responsible for?

Our team is responsible for development support of AML, document management, box inventory management and reporting applications via building/enhancing and supporting applications to meet changing business requirements.

What is the Senior Software Engineer responsible for?

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, supporting, and implementing software solutions. They will be responsible for leading technology projects and able to take their software through the entire development lifecycle. Additionally, they will be required to support and update existing software. They will be expected to leverage their outside expertise and knowledge to help elevate current technology stack as well as remain thoughtful of current updates in the software development industry and apply them to software solutions.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Software Engineer?

  1. System and data analysis, architecture, and design/write technical and functional design specifications
  2. Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards
  3. Create, maintain, and test business processes, web services and applications
  4. Provide day-to-day log/health checks of production environments and production support
  5. Provide post implementation support via troubleshooting and performance tuning
  6. Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing good practices and habits
  7. Other duties as assigned

What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • University degree in a Technology discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in applications development, maintenance and support
  • Experience with Enterprise Integration frameworks and ESB’s
  • Strong Windows server admin experience along with IIS
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Knowledge of AML Financial Systems
  • Knowledge of document/imaging systems

What technology skill sets are critical to the success of this role?

  • Hands-on knowledge with the following technologies: Java, GRAILs, SOAP & RESTful Web Services, Jason, XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery, MS-SQL, Stored Procedures
  • Experience with Enterprise Integration frameworks and ESB’s
  • Experience with Enterprise document management technologies (Documentum/OpenText)

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $128,000 and $140,000.
