We have an excellent opportunity for an early career Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer in our Honolulu, HI office.

What you will do:

The early career Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer will serve as a key technical resource leading environmental compliance and sampling field activities.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Preparing planning documents, conducting field surveys and environmental sampling/studies, and preparing compliance reports.
  • Environmental field surveys and sampling includes soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, stormwater, and air.
  • Environmental studies include compliance evaluations, debris control assessments, total maximum daily load (TMDL) studies, trash studies, and other stormwater related work.
  • Perform geographical information system (GIS) mapping and analysis.
  • Subcontractor oversight.
  • Support the preparation of technical documents, environmental reports, work plans, health and safety plans, and other written deliverables and proposals.

What you will need:

  • B.S. degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in environmental consulting.
  • Experience in environmental sampling, with stormwater discharges and treatment systems preferred.
  • Experience in work plan preparation and technical report writing.
  • Intermediate knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS) and modeling applications preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member across technical disciplines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (approximately 50 lbs.)
  • OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certifications required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
