Job Description
As the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will be instrumental in driving the company’s technological advancements in biotechnology. Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the software engineering team. * Develop and execute software strategies aligned with company goals. * Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of software systems. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with biotech processes. * Ensure software quality, reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance. * Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets. * Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. * Design and implement robust data management infrastructure. * Oversee the development and integration of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). * Lead DevOps initiatives to optimize development and deployment processes. * Manage and optimize the AWS cloud environment for scalability and cost-effectiveness. * Coordinate with IT to ensure seamless software system integration. * Drive the implementation of data visualization tools for actionable insights.
Required Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master’s preferred. * 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles. * Strong background in software architecture and design patterns. * Experience in biotech or healthcare software development is preferred. * Proficiency in Python and in-depth knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture. * Excellent communication and team management skills. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. * Extensive experience in designing and managing data management infrastructure. * Proficiency in LIMS implementation and customization for biotech applications. * Strong background in DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes). * Experience in overseeing IT operations and infrastructure.
