Overview:
THE ROLE:
The CI/CD Principal Engineer III will work in a hybrid role in our Torrance office. The role focuses on architecting, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines and automation processes for global teams. Responsibilities include maintaining CI/CD tooling, crafting scalable pipelines for public/private clouds, and streamlining workflows. The CI/CD Principal Engineer III will integrate and optimize multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud platforms, leading services from cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, Oracle OCI, GCP, and Alibaba Cloud. The role involves automating services like cloud compute, storage, microservices, containerization, and observability, while promoting teamwork across teams to ensure efficient CI/CD pipelines.

- DevOps Engineer
- Value Stream Delivery CI/CD
- DevSecOps
- Site Reliability Engineering and Observability
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines in alignment with company and Global Technology Services (GTS) strategies.
- Ensure solutions follow industry standard processes for CI/CD.
- Collaborate with GTS and business teams to meet automation needs.
- Identify and implement process improvements in CI/CD workflows.
- Work with GTS functions to ensure smooth operations and minimize workflow friction.
- Escalate and resolve issues within CI/CD and automation teams.
- Promote a collaborative environment to improve efficiency and cross-team collaboration.
- Collaborate in planning to improve CI/CD processes and tools.
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Expertise in managing cloud services, CI/CD automation, observability, and virtualization in complex environments.
- Deep technical knowledge of public/private cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS, Alibaba), with experience in CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong background in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevSecOps integration.
- Proficient in Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe) with experience leading Agile teams.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale CI/CD implementations and pipeline optimization.
- Ability to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and mentor team members.
Experience:
- 10+ years in IT with a focus on CI/CD or DevOps roles.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Azure DevOps).
- Proficient in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy).
- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Proven expertise in container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker Swarm).
- In-depth knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN, Mercurial).
- In-depth knowledge of monitoring and observability tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog, for optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with API development and integration, including the use of REST, SOAP, or GraphQL for connecting CI/CD systems with other platforms.
- Experience optimizing CI/CD workflows to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Solid understanding of release management practices, including blue/green deployments, canary releases, and rollback strategies.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
