Senior HFE Engineer - Security Clearance Required

The User Experience, Visualization, and Decision Support department at MITRE is seeking a proactive and self-directed Senior Human Factors Engineer (HFE) to lead multi-disciplinary teams in tackling unique challenges. We are looking for an innovative problem-solver who excels in designing and leading work initiatives, strategizing, analyzing, and translating user needs into transformative solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead and provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate closely with fellow engineers, UX Designers, researchers, project leaders, and sponsors.
• Advocate for the end-user, ensuring user-centered design principles are consistently applied.
• Lead the design and development of user interfaces for software and web applications.
• Mentor early career team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience applying user-centered design principles.
• US citizenship and clearance maintenance required.
• Experience with user research methods, usability testing, and design software.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated technical leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active clearance.
• Master's degree or PhD in relevant field.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative research design.
• Entrepreneurial, innovative spirit.
