CYNE-JP-12121-Software QA Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Build and perform End to End QA effort on Data Warehouse/ETL/BI Platforms
2. Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
3. Understand data flow and test strategy for ETL, Data warehouse and Business Intelligence testing
4. ETL testing of mapping, transformations and data pipelines.
5. Data warehouse testing involving the testing of stored procedures, SSIS packages, slowly changing dimension tables, Change Data capture etc.
6. Business Intelligence testing involving the validation of DataMart, ODS, Data models and SSRS reports.
7. Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
8. Identify, document and track software defects
9. Work closely with development teams to perform root cause analysis of issues
10. Write advanced SQL queries for ETL/data warehousing/Business Intelligence testing
11. Identify test cases which have to be automated. Prepare test automation strategy.
12. Design and develop test automation for backend.
13. Work with the team to continually improve test processes and practices based on inspection/adaption of previous iterations and to ensure adherence to process, tools and metrics standards within the project team
14. Be a self-starter and possess the ability to research issues and improve processes
15. Show initiatives and accountability with strong time management skills with project teams.

Must Have:

1. Experience in ETL testing techniques
2. Good understanding of Data Warehousing and business intelligence concepts and testing techniques
3. Experience in Working with Star Schema, ODS, multi-dimensional models, slowly changing dimensions
4. Experience in working with ETL framework, Change Data capture, DataMart, Data models etc

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering or Equivalent with overall 5 years of experience or Masters Degree in Science or Engineering or Equivalent with overall 3 years of experience in IT fields.
