WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Senior Database Developer plays a critical role in the Information Technology department, responsible for advanced database design, analysis, and development tasks. This role focuses on database structure, query writing, and the creation of stored procedures. The ideal candidate must be proficient in T-SQL and have a strong understanding of database architecture and design. You will also collaborate with end users to gather requirements and ensure that database solutions meet the needs of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
T-SQL Development:
- Write and debug complex stored procedures, functions, and SQL queries using T-SQL.
- Perform data manipulation through DML (Data Manipulation Language) for advanced query building.
Database Design:
- Design and implement relational databases from scratch, understanding the relationships between tables, entity-relationship diagrams (ERD), and normalization.
- Create and manage database objects such as tables, views, functions, and indexes using DDL (Data Definition Language).
Collaboration with End Users:
- Work closely with business stakeholders and end users to gather and analyze requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical database solutions that align with project objectives.
Data Movement & SQL Jobs:
- Manage SQL jobs and data movement processes, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in all phases of enterprise software design and development.
- At least 4 years of experience with SQL Server 2008 or higher.
- Proficiency in T-SQL development, including the ability to write and debug complex stored procedures and functions.
- Strong experience in relational database design, ERD, normalization, and database object creation.
- Experience in creating complex queries for data manipulation using DML.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
- Basic knowledge of DBA tasks, including security management, backup/restore operations, and server/system maintenance.
WHAT WE’RE NOT LOOKING FOR:
- This position is NOT focused on ETL processes.
- It does NOT involve SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) development.
- It does NOT require SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) development.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Healthcare information experience preferred
