Position Overview
As our CNC Lathe Operator , you will work as part of a team that is responsible for reading and interpreting shop fabrication drawings to fabricate and assemble our products to our client's specifications. You will be responsible for operating one or more types of computer numeric-controlled production machines. You will select appropriate settings and adjusts as necessary and follow established quality and safety standards. This position reports to our Production Supervisor.
Position Responsibilities
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
- Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, using computer network links
- Set up and operate computer-controlled machines or robots to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic workpieces
- Modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and save modified programs
- Write simple programs for computer-controlled machine tools
- Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
- Enter commands, instructions, or specifications into equipment
- Program equipment to perform production tasks
- Set equipment controls to meet cutting specifications
- Adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials or products
- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, and process information
- Salary $28-31/hour+, depending on experience

Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Technical Certificate a plus
- Must have at least 3 years' experience as a CNC Lathe Operator in a Machine Shop or Manufacturing environment
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude with knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Strong Mathematics skills with knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
- Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Computer Skills - Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, SAP, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
- CNC Programing with Gibbs-CAM software a plus but not required as we will train on programming
- Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
