They will play a key role in a cross-functional agile development team and will be responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of various cloud native components. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, collaborative team player, and problem solver.Cloud-native systems are designed to thrive in a dynamic, virtualized cloud environment, these systems make extensive use of Platform as a Service (PaaS) compute infrastructure and managed services. This developer will be well versed in these technologies (particularly within Azure) and possess the skills to quickly adapt and learn new ones. The Enterprise Core Platform is a young endeavor. It will require technologies and techniques that are new to many at Expeditors but available and proven in the wider technology domain.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, test, and implement components of the Enterprise Core PlatformDesign and develop cloud based micro-services to support the platform visionProvide flexible solutions emphasizing speed, scale, and agilityWork with various development teams coaching them on Platform migrations and servicesAwareness of various cloud native technologies and the ability to apply them to this contextBe a collaborative member of a highly motivated and very agile teamStep out of traditional roles to help out wherever is needed – embrace the agile mindsetFollow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to the technology when appropriateParticipate in R&D initiatives to bring new tools to the Core PlatformSupport and participate in DevSecOps practices and processesThis position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate.
