OverviewAs a Senior Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for leading complex project work as a part of a larger cross-functional team in support of Supply Chain. Sr. Lead Data Engineers typically design, implement, maintain, and optimize necessary analytics infrastructure on technically complex projects, focusing on developing solutions to data modeling and/or analytics technology needs. You must have a general understanding of Supply Chain operations and be able to quickly develop mastery of the needed subject area across Supply Chain.Our Senior Lead Data Engineers work with wide latitude for action or decisions on projects that are more complex and cross-functional in nature. They act as a subject-matter-expert and resource on data and/or analytics technology, and they may represent Supply Chain Data Analytics (SCDA) in external conversations. They also assist with the selection or oversight of outside vendor partners. They are expected to influence the project execution of IT and analyst teams. Successful candidates for this role must have strong analytical and data modeling skills, a deep understanding of database technology and data use within analytic platforms, and they must have strong programming skills with SQL and/or Python.We expect our Senior Lead Data Engineers to have demonstrated fluency and competency in both the technology language of IT and the analyst language of Supply Chain analysts. They have experience developing and implementing data models for analytic use and a moderate level of experience with cloud database architecture. They will need to be fast learners with a keen eye for detail, systems thinking, and process design. They must be team players who work steadfastly to create impactful change.Our Flexible Future model offers a healthy mix of working in person and remotely, strengthening key elements of the Chick-fil-A culture by fostering collaboration and community.ResponsibilitiesThe person who fills this role will be expected to do the following as a part of their regular work responsibilities:Exhibit wide latitude in aligning Supply Chain stakeholders and IT to translate business logic into scalable data and analytic solutions on complex projectsDevelop ETL pipelines for Supply Chain consumption, establishing patterns for repeatable, scalable ETL work that others can leverage in their workDevelop tool, data, and analytic best practices for SCDA and advise on their integration into operational practicesDesign specific tool implementations, understanding Databricks, DBT performance, and cloud compute performance requirements and expectationsHelp design patterns for efficient use of cloud compute resourcesOwn and be accountable for data model and code quality and any relevant documentationImplement data governance and master data management principles across specific project executionAct as a subject-matter-expert and resource on data and/or analytic technology issues for the larger SCDA communityDrive complex projects to success and enables others to own the impactManage any needed maintenance and quality control on data pipelines or data products they have built which are actively in useMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in MIS, Decision Sciences, Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science or other similar fields5-8 years of relevant work experienceHas strong analytical and data modeling skillsHas a deep understanding of database technologyHas a deep understanding of analytic platform data useHas strong programming skills in SQL and/or PythonHas experience developing and implementing data models for analytic useHas moderate experience with cloud database architectureHas the skill to partner with cross-functional teams using strong written and verbal communicationIs a fast learner and proven problem solverHas a keen eye for system thinking and process design, especially with respect to scalability and automationHas a keen eye for detail and thoughtful investigation of dataHas a steadfast focus on creating impactful changePreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in MIS, Decision Sciences, Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science or other similar fieldsHas some experience using the AWS big data technology stackHas extensive experience with Databricks, dbt, Alteryx, or similar ETL platformsHas extensive experience with Tableau or similar data visualization toolsHas some experience implementing data governance principlesMinimum Years of Experience5Travel Requirements10%Required Level of EducationBachelor's DegreePreferred Level of EducationMaster's DegreeMajor/ConcentrationMIS, Decision Sciences, Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science or other similar fieldsJob FunctionSupply ChainPosition TypeExperienced ProfessionalsRequisition ID2024-17050Posting Location : LocationUS-GA-Atlanta
