Product Design Engineer

Growing company with hose products sold in many industries needs a Product Development Engineer with a good understanding of materials and mixing methods.

Should be familiar with rubber and rubber/synthetic blends used in different hose-making applications.

Will develop hose assemblies which meet performance specifications.

Will work in design, sample builds, and testing.

Work on specification of capital equipment needed to make products.

Will coordinate with sales, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers to ensure processes meet quality objectives according to TS 16949, ISO 14001, and QS 9000 requirements.

Investigate customer issues and provide technical service at the engineering level.

Work on continuous improvement projects to lower costs, improve manufacturing throughput, improve quality, increase customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or similar.

2+ years’ experience with rubber mixing or working with synthetic materials used in hose assemblies.

Should have experience working with hose products, or with similar products.

Must have a background in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and quality standards.
