SUMMARY
Assist in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes in accordance with product specifications in addition to industry and quality standards. Monitor, analyze, recommend, and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls. Drive scrap reduction through problem solving and elimination of root causes. Assist in maintaining the company quality program in accordance with established standards, customer specifications and production goals; also ensures the quality system is implemented and managed in accordance with ISO standards.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Assist in supporting and maintaining the Quality Management System under the ISO 9001:2015 standard; including revising and release of controlled documents.
  • Actively contribute and partner on the production floor daily with Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Shipping to address concerns, observe processes, and be a proactively involved team member.
  • Assist in updating and maintenance of quality databases and training files.
  • Evaluate, and recommend processes for efficiency & improvements of the production process, through practices of Lean manufacturing systems and use of sound audit techniques/statistical tools.
  • Identify high leverage continuous improvement projects to elevate the company Quality delivery to our customers and to build Quality into the process from end to end.
  • Drive the execution of quality goals and objectives to meet internal and external customer expectations for quality.
  • Work cross- functionally to investigate for root causes of product/process failures and drive corrective & preventative actions internally and/or with suppliers.
  • Generate and share reports to internal and external customers.
  • Develop, Track, Report Quality KPIs (i.e. defects, RMAs, MRBs) to internal and external customers (as means for visual management to drive continuous quality improvement).
  • Perform Internal/External Supplier Audits as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to construct and present information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Proficient in business email communication and etiquette.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Adept and willing to be a hands-on team member working frequently on the production floor and in quality/inspection areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Product Suites.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to multi-task while demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, integrity, and personal accountability.
  • Ability to work proficiently and independently managing tasks, assignments, and projects with little to no supervision.
  • Self-starter, results-oriented, and the ability to work with a sense of urgency in a rapidly changing environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Familiar with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
  • Knowledge of various quality system methodologies - (i.e. Lean, 6-Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, 8D, 5Whys, Pareto Analysis, Fish-Bone, FMEA, etc.).

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Education: B.A. / B.S., Engineering
  • Experience and/or educational background in Material Sciences and Chemistry.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in quality engineering.
  • 1-3 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
The ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively in the English language is required for all roles.
REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT/TRAINING
AGC follows all required OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standard industry guidelines in-regards to the use of personal protective equipment and safety training required for the specific job function.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • May be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Ability to Stand, walk, sit, use of hands to handle, feel, or grasp objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach and lift with hands and arms; lift/move/carry objects up to 25 lbs. in weight.
  • Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Ability to talk and hear for safety on the production floor.
  • Visual ability to see things in close vision, distance vison, color vision, peripheral vison, depth perception and ability to adjust focus as needed.

PAY
$68,000 - $70,000
WORK SCHEDULE/OVERTIME
Typical schedule is business hours Mon. to Fri. 8 am - 5 pm unless otherwise specified by management.
