This is an incredible chance for a Mobile Engineer to join a rapidly growing technology firm specialising in home energy services, with a novel approach to household distributed battery storage. As the use of renewable energy increases, existing networks become less dependable and more expensive. BASE Power presents a wiser solution: an all-in-one home battery system that lowers outages, balances energy bills, and ensures consistent backup power.
My client's business is the only one of its type in Texas, providing a house battery, monthly energy plan, and installation without the need of solar panels. Customers save money by charging the battery while energy rates are low and discharging it when they rise. They are a Series A firm that received $70 million in their initial fundraising round.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience developing iOS and/or Android applications.
- Proficiency in Swift (for iOS) and/or Kotlin (for Android).
- Experience with React Native or Flutter for cross-platform development.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and integration with mobile applications.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and version control systems like Git.
Primary Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications that enhance customer experience with distributed energy solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and quality across different mobile platforms.
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code while following best practices.
- Identify and fix bugs, optimize performance, and continuously improve the app’s user interface and user experience.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with IoT or energy-related applications.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, and their mobile services (e.g., AWS Amplify, Firebase).
- Knowledge of GraphQL for efficient data fetching.
- Experience working with mobile CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Fastlane, Bitrise).
- Familiarity with mobile app security best practices and encryption protocols.
