As an engineer in the AIML Special Projects group, you will have an opportunity to be part of an innovation-focused organization within Apple that is exploring integrations between robotics and AIML. You will be able to work on highly ambitious, high-reward, and impactful projects in the early stages of development. Some examples of projects that you would work on include, but are not limited to, audio/speech features and simulation pipeline and tooling. This team has a strong focus on shipping AIML-based features and products. Our ideal team member is fearless when it comes to trying new things and is willing to iterate on ideas. We value team members who can quickly prototype, iterating all the way to high-quality implementations. Moreover, we value team members who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Description

As a member of this team, you will use your background to (but not be limited to):

• Build pipelines, Machine Learning infra, and tooling focused on simulation and evaluation.
• Build full-stack, user-facing applications to help accelerate robotics project testing and validation.
• Implement innovative approaches to audio and voice/speech features.
• Build integration with various models to scale up and improve capabilities of systems that employ Machine Learning.
• Review and prototype algorithms, participate in periodic robotics and AIML research paper discussions and literature reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong and proven software development skills.
• Passion for software architecture, API design and developer experience.
• Strong Python and C++ development experience.
• Industry experience bringing AI systems from advanced research to production.
• Excellent collaboration skills: strong verbal and written communication skills.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with native macOS app development is a plus.
• Experience with 3D Audio libraries/software is a plus.
• Experience with audio and voice/speech (ASR and TTS algorithms) is a plus.
• Experience with large-scale simulation systems is a plus.
• Experience with robotics, embodied AI, or LLMs is a plus.
