Job Purpose

The HDMA Production Engineering Digital Manufacturing IoT team is on a mission to develop and deploy IoT solutions aligned with our 2030 vision for manufacturing renewal. The IoT Systems Engineer is driving NA regional IoT projects as a technology and business expert by creating and directing the technology and innovative solutions that help users receive, control and manage information and diffusing across all North American manufacturing plants ensuring robust, repeatable, and controlled methods are in place to maximize business value and support plant characteristics enhancement.

Key Accountabilities
  • Deployment of IoT technology projects related but not limited to asset condition monitoring, vision systems, AI and M/L, data processing, product quality including plans & targets to improve the business operating capabilities for the region.
  • Analyse user/customer needs along with manufacturing problems and align them with product/technology opportunities.
  • Contribute to and management of IoT strategy and roadmap for selected areas.
  • Support testing and development of IoT potential solutions before regional deployment.
  • Support analytical processes, like machine learning in use within proof-of-technology concepts to deployed IoT projects.
  • Monitor and report progress with metrics for IoT projects diffused across the region and proactively manage challenges or constraints.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or engineering-related areas: electrical, controls, systems, computer science, data science or other equivalent degree with the required experience
  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing equipment controls, network design, embedded systems, machine learning and/or data engineering with a focus on the automotive industry w/ Bachelors degree
  • 7+ years experience with relevant responsibilities
  • Computer programming and network security knowledge, project management, knowledge of IoT sensor technology used in manufacturing environment, EX. Vision, vibration, change management, MS Office. Understanding of Honda Philosophy and Core Values
Workstyle
  • Hybrid position, preferred Ohio site
  • 90% office, 10% production floor (go to the spot)
  • Travel to plant or special assignment
