M365 Migration Engineer

Job Overview:

Responsible for performing migration to Microsoft 365 from other collaborative platforms.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Perform migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 using SPMT and third-party tools like Sharegate, Metalogix, BitTitan, AvePoint, or any other tools.
2. Migrate content to Microsoft 365 workloads (Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.).
3. Implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and compliance of the M365 environment.
4. Create Microsoft PowerShell and PnP scripts for both day-to-day activities and migration-specific tasks.
5. Perform post-migration checks.
6. Coordinate between stakeholders during the migration phases and help achieve project outcomes.
7. Evaluate and remediate issues in complex content migrations.
8. Work independently, handling batch migration without any support.
9. Create console applications required during migration.
10. Offer solutions for migration project schedules, including analyzing workload inventory, applications migration, comparing reports, metadata mapping and import, custom sites migration, and further assist with configuration support in migration of Office 365 workloads.
11. Perform unit testing.
12. Be a highly collaborative team player with some overlap hours with the US CST time-zone.
13. May require after-hours and weekend hours during active migrations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Preferred Skills:

1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in SharePoint administration and development.
2. Hands-on experience in SharePoint Migration from On-premises to SharePoint Online using third-party tools like Sharegate, Metalogix, BitTitan, AvePoint, or any other tools.
3. Experience in Network drive/File Share migration to SharePoint Online (OneDrive).
4. Hands-on experience in SharePoint custom development and Power Platform Application (PowerApps, Flow, and Power BI).
5. Migration experience in migrating Google Workspace to M365 is an added advantage.
6. Experience with SharePoint OOTB (meaning no customization, just adding web parts, columns, views, 3rd party web parts or apps, etc.) in classic and modern SharePoint sites.
7. Experience in SharePoint Framework (SPFX) with React.
8. Knowledge in PowerShell scripting and SharePoint API utilization.
9. Excellent knowledge of SharePoint Online security and user groups.
