Chief Engineer Maintenance

Job Overview:

Duke Alexandria LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Engineer to manage the maintenance and upkeep of our 176,000 sqft commercial office space at 2000 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will have a background in hotel or commercial maintenance and will ensure our building systems are operating efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
2. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
3. Manage maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
4. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repair projects.
5. Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
7. Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
8. Monitor building energy usage and implement energy-saving measures.
9. Collaborate with the property management team to ensure smooth building operations.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in hotel maintenance or commercial building maintenance is essential.
2. In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
3. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. Relevant technical certifications or training are highly desirable.
7. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.95 - $26.43 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
