Position Summary :

The Sr. Cloud Systems Engineer will lead the development, optimization, and security of our cloud-based infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other technical teams to design, deploy, migrate, and optimize cloud workloads, ensuring robust performance, scalability, and security. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in identifying optimal cloud solutions and implementing industry best practices to ensure smooth, cost-effective, and secure cloud operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports legacy/On-Prem enterprise applications and systems and leads the migration of on-prem workloads to the cloud (Azure), while architecting for redundancy and scalability.
  • Debugging complex cloud infrastructure issues and maintaining stringent security measures throughout our cloud operations.
  • Implement or enhance the monitoring and optimization practices of our cloud operations for better performance, security, and cost management to ensure compliance with agreed-upon SLAs/SLOs.
  • Improve, implement, and maintain best-in-class security practices for our cloud infrastructure, ensuring the protection of our cloud workloads/data and compliance.
  • Collaborate with our development, DevOps, QA, Infrastructure, and security teams to align cloud solutions with business objectives.
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to continue the development and improvement of our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts to deploy cloud resources through pipelines and the automation of application installs.
  • Creates, reviews, and maintains clear and concise technical documentation and runbooks/SOPs to ensure supportability and reusability.
  • Shares knowledge and expertise with junior members of the team through training sessions and brown bag sessions. Helps mentor junior engineers on cloud best practices and knowledge/career development.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in cloud engineering.
  • Industry Standard Cloud Certifications such as:
    • (Azure Certification at the associate level or higher preferred)

Knowledge and Skills:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Proven experience in cloud engineering with a deep understanding of major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure (Preferred).
  • Proven track record of delivering resilient, scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions leveraging a well-architected cloud infrastructure framework.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong background in troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues, a deep understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure).
  • Possess one or more cloud certifications: (Azure Certifications Preferred).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure as code tooling (such as Bicep, Terraform, etc.) and scripting/programming languages (such as Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Proactive, self-driven, and committed to continuously learning the latest industry trends and emerging cloud technologies and improvement in the cloud space.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail.

Hours Required: Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. Occasional off-hours work required.
