Position Summary

Work with a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to develop and deploy GenAI applications supporting Walmart's finance department. Build state-of-the-art LLM models by training with massive amounts of Walmart data utilizing open-source or in-house tools.

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What You'll Do

  1. Work independently and guide small groups of engineers, including offshore associates, on assigned engineering projects.
  2. Review project requirements, translate them into technical solutions, develop code, conduct testing, and ensure on-time delivery.
  3. Collaborate with the product team, cross-functional partners, architecture leads, and UX designers and researchers.
  4. Participate in CI/CD processes and automated testing to enhance development efficiency.
  5. Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring that solutions effectively solve end-user problems.

Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work independently and guide small groups of engineers on various projects, including new product features and proof-of-concepts. You will translate project requirements into technical solutions, develop code, conduct testing, and ensure on-time delivery. Collaborating with product teams, cross-functional partners, architecture leads, and UX designers, you will participate in CI/CD processes and automated testing to enhance development efficiency. Your customer-centric approach and passion for solving end-user problems will drive the creation of effective solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  2. 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
