Our manufacturing facility located in Frederick, Maryland is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Facilities Engineer II with a focus on industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  1. Demonstrate a firm understanding of medium and low voltage electrical systems;
  2. Facilitate the lead electrical engineer serving as the subject matter expert for the electrical systems and equipment and the building lighting, security, and fire protection systems;
  3. Support the troubleshooting and resolving of complex problems through ingenuity and an innovative mindset;
  4. Support the design, planning, and execution of facilities/equipment/utility system projects including conceptual design, detailed design, construction, and commissioning;
  5. Define project scopes, prepare requests for proposals, prepare cost estimates and business cases for justification of capital projects;
  6. Serve as a project manager for small projects in accordance with capital project governance;
  7. Work under the guidance of the manager and senior engineering staff;
  8. Support F&E management through development of metrics, presentations, etc.;
  9. Facilitate the management of contractors performing equipment, utility system, and facility work during project implementation;
  10. Partner with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department to provide a safe work environment during project implementation. Draft and/or review job hazard assessments. Develop LOTO plans for equipment and system outages;
  11. Partner with EHS to ensure compliance with the EPA and other applicable regulatory bodies;
  12. Partner with EHS to achieve Kite energy and sustainability initiatives;
  13. Ensure electrical systems operate in a safe manner and comply with all applicable laws and codes;
  14. Review and approve project drawings, specifications, submittals, and turnover packages;
  15. Address requests for information (RFIs) during project design and implementation;
  16. Write and/or provide technical review of documentation including standard operating procedures and facility and engineering drawings;
  17. Demonstrate a firm understanding of GxP operations including adherence to standard operating procedures;
  18. Assemble documentation required for equipment and system inductions into the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS);
  19. Develop preventive maintenance and calibration plans and assemble the documentation required to input these plans into the EAMS;
  20. Source proposals for vendor provided maintenance services;
  21. Identify spare parts requirements for electrical equipment and systems and source proposals to facilitate procurement;
  22. Perform investigations, root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and manage quality record work flows in the document control system;
  23. Perform risk assessments, system impact assessments, and FMEAs.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience OR
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 4+ years of experience working with medium and low voltage electrical systems in an industrial setting.
  2. Eligible for professional engineering licensure.
  3. Proficient understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards relevant to the industry.
  4. Excellent understanding of NFPA 70, 70E, and 70B and electrical code compliance.
  5. Knowledgeable of commercial manufacturing of pharmaceutical products and Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP).
  6. Ability to collect, evaluate, and communicate information through relevant business analyses to guide resolutions.
  7. Ability to communicate vertically and horizontally through multiple channels and promote cross-functional collaboration.
  8. Effective verbal and written communication skills and comfortable working in a team environment.
  9. Excellent presentation skills to different audiences including stakeholders.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  11. Proficiency in CAD applications including BIM, Revit, AutoCAD a plus.
  12. Smartsheet proficiency a plus.

The salary range for this position is: $97,495.00 - $126,170.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
