Senior Network Engineer - Security
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer - Security to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with Information Security and Networking Architects to implement cutting-edge network security solutions that protect our critical infrastructure. You’ll play a pivotal part in security-related projects, including the deployment of new technologies and enhancing the security of existing systems.
This role requires a strong background in Cisco networking, Check Point firewalls, and Azure-based cloud environments. You’ll also be responsible for leading vulnerability testing, policy development, and working directly with customers to ensure network security best practices are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, implement, and maintain network security platforms and associated software to ensure stability and security.
- Collaborate with Information Security Architects on ongoing assessments and policy development for application control, firewall, SIEM, VPN, SSL, intrusion detection/prevention, and more.
- Audit network security, including routers, firewalls, and switches, ensuring compliance with standards set by the CISO.
- Lead periodic vulnerability testing and remediation projects with the Information Security team.
- Respond to and manage security incidents, providing technical expertise during remediation efforts.
- Analyze and oversee log data for managed services, ensuring customer security requirements are met.
- Maintain and manage security devices (firewalls, NIDS/NIPS, content filters, proxies, etc.) to ensure network defense.
- Develop custom network intrusion detection signatures and rules, ensuring SIEM environments are optimized.
- Work closely with customers to ensure operational and secure network devices.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in network security .
- Strong Cisco networking and routing experience .
- Check Point firewall experience.
- Azure cloud experience.
- CCNA certification is required; Check Point certification is a plus.
- Must reside within a 60-minute drive of Bethlehem, PA for hybrid work.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring dexterity and physical strength (lifting up to 60 lbs).
Education & Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Security, Computer Science, Information Systems.
- Strong experience in network security , including strong knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH Security .
- Hands-on experience with security tools like Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, BigIP, Forescout, and others.
Preferred Certifications:
- CISSP , CCNP , CCNA , CCIE , CCSA , Security+ , and others.
