Duties:
- Work across many backend services which power subscriber experiences onsite and in native mobile apps.
- Write high-quality code with best practices and design patterns in mind and engage in code review/quality assurance.
- Work with your partners from different teams and disciplines to create a scalable experimentation and personalization architecture.
- Consult with your partners in Product to form sprint goals and break work into atomic units.
- Optimize the underlying AWS infrastructure for subscription services for performance and cost.
- Use your experience to help guide technical decisions and participate in technical architecture discussions.
Requirements:
Employer will accept a master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field and two years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:
- Using Java EE to write code that promotes code reuse;
- Writing unit, integration and end to end tests to ensure code quality;
- DevOps technologies: Docker, Jenkins, and AWS Products;
- MySQL, Oracle, and Splunk;
- At least one of the following applications: Wildfly, Glassfish, Tomcat;
- Web servers (httpd and Nginx); and
- JMS, ActiveMq, SQS/SNS (AWS).
The base annual pay range for this position in Washington, D.C. is US $119,700.00 - $199,300.00. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

The salary range for this position is: 119,700.00 - 199,300.00 USD Annual.
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
