TDA Research, Inc. is located outside Denver, Colorado with offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden. We have a staff of 100+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries. TDA is looking for an undergraduate studying electrical or mechanical for a fall engineering internship.The Engineering Intern will work with project leaders and engineers to design, assemble, and operate experimental apparatuses. A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills.The Engineering Intern may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The Engineering Intern will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The Engineering Intern will need reliable transportation to travel between work sites.Roles and Responsibilities:Under general supervision design, manufacture, and build test apparatusesElectrically/mechanically install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipmentOperate testing apparatuses and handle proper data collectionWire circuits and program microcontrollersIntegrate sensors and data collection methodsDesign mechanisms and hardware as neededDocument and perform various experimentsConvey complex information clearly and conciselyPerform other duties as assignedEducations Requirements:Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineeringActively enrolled in a bachelor’s program at an accredited universityPreferred Skills and Abilities:Introduction to Programming (Python, C, etc.)Basic knowledge of microcontrollers and sensorsElectrical wiringGeneral assemblyFamiliarity with CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent)Interested in Design, Controls, Medical Devices, or UAVsMinimum of 10 hours per weekBasic Knowledge of SafetyPhysical Demands:Sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of timeAscend/descend stairs and laddersNo sponsorship, relocation, or housing stipend available for this internship.This is an on-site internship in Golden, CO - no remote or hybrid option available.Pay rate is $20.00 per hour, without benefits as this is a Fall Internship and temporary.Powered by JazzHR
