Director of Engineering

Summary :

Lead the engineering team to support customer success by delivering high-quality optoelectronic devices. Drive automation, production efficiency, and process improvements. Collaborate with sales, business development, and production teams for product design and contract execution. Report to the COO.

Key Responsibilities :

• Improve engineering practices for design, ECN, BOM, and product configuration.
• Oversee NPI and improvement projects.
• Establish and track KPIs for business success.
• Manage the capex budget for capability and efficiency enhancements.

Skills :

• Leadership in technical teams.
• Knowledge of optomechanical systems and optoelectronics.
• Experience with optical/mechanical design (SolidWorks PDM preferred).
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.
• Experience in project management and capital planning.

Requirements :

• 15+ years in opto/electro-mechanical device engineering.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• BS in Engineering. Familiarity with US export compliance, ISO9000, project management, and LEAN manufacturing.
