Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technical or other related field, 8+ years of applied knowledge, and 3+ years Team, service or project management, OR
- High school diploma/GED, 13+ years of applied knowledge, and 8+ years Team, service or project management
- Experienced advisor/ Technical Leader & Domain Expert for business and technical aspects of products and services in aerospace engines, especially electric propulsion
- Experienced leading projects, programs or service area
- Experienced communicating to Senior managers
- Technical/engineering expertise with experience in the aerospace engines, especially electric propulsion
- Experience using DO-178 and mission-critical aircraft development
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills along with excellent analytical, writing and editing and presentation skills
- Ability to organize effectively, carry out independent action, work on simultaneous assignments, and perform functions of a confidential manner
- Strong project management skills and proficient with planning software and tools
- Strong team development, collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of trade association operations
- Strong leadership skills developing and achieving organizational long- and short-range business plans and goals
- Ability to work with high-level executives, industry (commercial, government, military, academic) leaders
- 30% Travel
Responsibilities
- Seeking a Senior Program Operations Manager Specialist responsible for program/department level business and operations management
- Manages program/department level strategy, budget & results, as applicable
- Develops, manages and/or administers projects, services, products and/or policies in support of the annual business plan
- Oversees day-to-day operations of program, department, or area of responsibility
- Manages the efficient and effective use of allocated resources financial, information, volunteers, contractors/ vendors and consultants
- Develops and monitors compliance to or variance of budget for designated area, as applicable
- Review and negotiate contracts
- Review contractor performance and escalate shortcomings
- Manages and contributes to program and department product and service offerings from introduction through obsolescence and evaluates new technologies
- Adjusts program plans addressing products and services to align with industry and organizational requirements and best practices
- Manages communications and marketing, stakeholder relations (internal and external), contributes technical oversight and specific subject-matter expertise to the development of Technical Reports and Services, and manages internal business processes
- Communications include running meetings, attending forums and conferences and issuing regular correspondence at senior levels
- Recruits consortium and program members and promotes sponsorship opportunities
- Defines user-experience research to identify obstacles, improve ease-of-use, customer satisfaction and inform future product and service development
- Reviews program as well as product and service usage, and satisfaction data and maintains an ongoing dialog with customers and internal stakeholders on trends, risks and opportunities
- Contributes to fiscal management and strategic planning by developing and annually updating short- and long-term forecasts including business and financial projections as well as execution of strategies for new opportunities
- Contributes to tactical planning through the identification of new products and/or services that expand program's relevance to users and customers, with an emphasis on new issues and solutions
- Manages tactical phases to achieve annual business plans that meet organization-wide objectives for responsible products and services
- Member of SAE ITC Program/ Department Lead Staff as applicable
- When applicable, acts as a Domain Expert and Technical Leader
- Contribute to the achievement of the Consortium, SAE ITC, SAE International, and Fullsight goals
- Maintains key customer and other stakeholder relationships at senior manager levels
- Spends time on external activities with customers and managers in industry and government to promote program-related products and services
- Additional special projects as assigned
