Recognized as one of Utah's top 100 fastest growing companies, three years in a row, we are experiencing impressive growth and need a new Project Engineer/Estimator in our Sandy office, to help support project management, bid and prepare projects for construction. Job Expectations:

  • Maintains an up-to-date database about current project status
  • Assists Project Manager on projects from preconstruction to close-out
  • Confirms that project reports, submittals, schedules, and change orders are being met
  • Provides the required up-to-date copies of drawings and specifications to subcontractors.
  • Attends and participates in applicable meetings
  • Ensures that the project site and construction operations and procedures are documented
  • Files hard or electronic inspections, tests, safety, and other reports
  • Assists with the monitoring and enforcement of the safety plan.
  • Submits change order requests to architect and owner, and maintains log of PRs, CORs, and COs.
  • Provides quantity take-offs for self-performed work activities.
  • Markets the company to the owner and architectural team; engages the Business Development Department in pursuing future opportunities.
  • Works with the project team to ensure that the detailed construction CPM schedule is met.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • General knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, plans, construction documents, contract documents, and specifications
  • Read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Proactive and deadline-oriented.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
  • General knowledge of LEED principles.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of equipment and tools; proficiency in skilled construction, maintenance, and repair tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite, BlueBeam, and can navigate and/or use CAD software.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Or 3 to 5 years of related commercial construction experience
