Software Engineer - Options
Our client is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their Options team in Chicago. As a leading global player in technology and trading operations, this team is focused on optimising market connectivity, enhancing access to options markets, and developing cutting-edge systems to improve the trading of options contracts. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with trading and technology teams while independently managing projects. You’ll need strong communication skills, a creative problem-solving approach, and a passion for driving impact.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimise high-performance options trading systems using C++ and/or Python.
- Independently lead and deliver high-quality projects of various sizes, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Work with Quantitative Traders to introduce innovative improvements in options trading technology and strategy.
- Operate in a fast-paced environment, providing rapid and effective solutions under pressure.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Significant experience as a software engineer, with expertise in C++/Python.
- Proven track record of working on options, equities or related asset classes’ trading systems, including experience with high-frequency or mid-frequency trading environments.
- Proficient in building, optimising, and maintaining high-performance trading systems with a focus on quality and reliability.
- Ability to manage large-scale, independent projects while delivering quick solutions in a high-pressure setting.
- A passion for new technologies and their application within the options trading space.
- Solid academic background in a STEM discipline from a world-leading university.
