LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a Plant Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Joliet, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and experience leading mechanical integrity and process safety programs in a chemical plant environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring adherence to PSM requirements, corporate process safety policies, and standards, with a focus on the mechanical integrity element of PSM. The Plant Manufacturing Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert and champion, driving strong mechanical integrity performance and fostering a robust process safety culture within the plant. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical integrity and process safety programs in a chemical plant to ensure compliance with PSM requirements and corporate process safety policies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on PSM and mechanical integrity, providing guidance and support to plant personnel.
- Develop and implement procedures, work processes, and standards to ensure effective management of process safety risk.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards related to process safety.
- Conduct audits and assessments to evaluate mechanical integrity and process safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address process safety issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide training and coaching to plant personnel on process safety concepts, procedures, and best practices.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and corporate stakeholders on process safety matters.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses related to process safety incidents, identifying lessons learned and implementing preventive measures.
- Foster a strong process safety culture within the plant, promoting awareness and accountability at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with a focus on process safety management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations and standards.
- Experience leading mechanical integrity and process safety programs in a chemical plant environment.
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and process hazard analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of driving results and fostering a culture of safety.
- Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) or similar certification preferred.
