What you'll do...
The Emerging Tech organization is looking to hire a Staff Software Engineer- React Native to join the Compass Team. Compass is a version 1 product that the Emerging Tech team is building, which will bring location awareness in Walmart stores. When using Compass, we will be able to accurately track items and assets inside stores and help associates and customers navigate to those said items/assets. We are using cutting edge technology to do this, and it also includes computer visualization and extended reality as part of mobile development.
About the team
Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low-Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and website.
What You'll Do
- Primarily responsible for delivering high quality technical designs and code for the product requirements in a fast-paced agile scrum environment.
- Lead and participate in small to medium-scale projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.
- Strive for continuous improvement in efficiency.
- Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing online documentation.
- Provide support to the business by responding to user's questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies); identifying short- and long-term solutions; facilitating resolutions; and leading cross-functional partnership.
What you'll bring:
- At least 6 experience in core Software development experience.
- Expertise with Mobile App Development with React Native and supporting libraries.
- Experience building customizable, reusable, and dynamic components in Mobile APP UI using React Native, Redux, JavaScript, ES6, Typescript, HTML and CSS.
- Must have strong knowledge & hands-on experience UI components and building the app in React Native environment on Android or iOS devices.
- Experience in implementing UI analytics to report customer behavior and improve UI accordingly.
- A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation and code structure in a team environment.
- A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things to the next level and a passion for adopting the latest industry best practices.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana.
- Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability work effectively in the team.
- Native iOS or Android experience is a plus.
- Experience with Cloud technologies (Azure preferred) & Kubernetes.

The annual salary range for this position is $116,900.00-$217,100.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
