Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, potentially across different countries, with a focus on your domain.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to establish KPIs and metrics for successful iterative development.
- Ensure your team consistently delivers outcomes that provide value to customers.
- Align incoming requests with business priorities and product vision, managing engineering tasks effectively.
- Set technical direction, ensuring the quality, performance, and scalability of the product.
- Plan for and address unknown challenges, ensuring readiness and resilience in systems.
- Reduce dependencies across teams and enable predictable delivery of work.
- Oversee product development with deployment, monitoring, and alerting considerations.
- Continuously reflect on and optimize the effectiveness of the solutions within your domain.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading a product engineering team, working with a Product Owner and Scrum Master in an Agile environment.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities without compromising quality.
- Strong leadership skills, with a track record of hiring and managing engineers.
- Deep understanding of modern development practices, including front-end web development, back-end API development, DevOps, and security.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to rapidly adapt to changing requirements.
- Experience with payment processors (credit cards, bank drafts) and subscription-based auto-shipped orders.
- Familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs, Docker, Git, AWS (EC2, S3, Fargate, DynamoDB, Kinesis).
- Experience with domain-driven development, CQRS, event sourcing, and asynchronous systems (RabbitMQ, SQS).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (DataDog, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch, Grafana).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer and 3+ years as a Senior Software Engineer or Tech Lead in an Agile environment.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with CMS systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Contentful).
- Passion for AI, machine learning, big data, and staying current with the latest technologies.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
