Apply now.A Brief Summary of This Position:This position is responsible for the structural analysis and design of products to be quoted and fabricated by the Valmont Utility Division. Included in this is the full design responsibility for processing specific orders (including those projects requiring PE stamping) and major developmental projects, general design engineering support for drafting and sales, and providing guidance and training for Associate, Design, and Project Engineers.Essential Functions:This position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager and has no direct or indirect reportsThis role requires up to 10% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight staysIndependently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria and devise new approaches to problems encountered.Provide general direction to Senior Design, Design, and/or Associate Drafters, and/or EngineersInterpretation of customer specifications and design and analysis of structures to meet those specifications, in combination with applicable national, technical society, and Valmont Utility codes and specificationsProvide technical support on quotations and orders, routinely through telephone, email, or in-personAssist the Engineering Applications group (IMPAX and CATO program group) in the development and enhancement of design and analysis programsRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):B.S.
