About the role:
The Engineering Excellence Solution Architect (in GTS) is focusing to improve the engineering skills, quality, and speed of delivery of the Group Technology Solutions (GTS) division. The Engineering Excellence SA could be responsible for leading a virtual squad of engineers, and other IT professionals. Together they will work on designing and leading the implementations of cross-cutting automation initiatives to enhance the engineering practices and standards across IT. The Engineering Excellence SA will also act as a change agent.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate together with the different team members the ideation and delivery of engineering excellence initiatives, such as improving code quality, testing automation, security, resilience, performance, and scalability of IT solutions.
2. Ensure that the engineering excellence initiatives comply with the enterprise engineering and architecture standards, patterns, and principles, and escalate any deviations or issues through the design governance.
3. Drive and ensure the value creation for the engineering modernization initiative.
4. Collaborate with the Domain Architects, the Product Owners, the Scrum Masters, and the Communities of Practice to identify the engineering needs, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
5. Facilitate the adoption of best engineering practices and standards, such as code reviews, pair programming, refactoring, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and DevOps.
6. Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to the Engineering Excellence squad members and help them develop and promote engineering skills and competencies.
7. Communicate and promote the engineering excellence culture and initiatives across IT divisions, and organize events, workshops, and trainings to share knowledge and best practices.
8. Contribute to the IT innovation and transformation agenda by bringing hands-on experience and insights from the engineering excellence perspective.
9. Act as a solution architect around automation initiatives and the engineering practices.

Requirements:

1. Extensive experience in IT engineering, architecture, and solution design, preferably in a complex and dynamic environment.
2. Strong knowledge of engineering best practices and standards, such as code quality, testing automation, security, resilience, performance, and scalability.
3. Ability to define, document, and deliver coherent end-to-end IT solutions that meet both the functional and non-functional requirements of a project or an epic.
4. Ability to lead, coordinate, and collaborate with a diverse and distributed team of IT professionals across different domains, platforms, and technologies.
5. Ability to drive change and innovation, and influence the engineering mindset and behavior of the GTS division.
6. Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, and ability to tailor the message to different audiences and levels.
7. Results-driven and customer-oriented approach, and ability to balance business needs with IT needs.
8. A curious and learning mindset, and willingness to share knowledge and best practices.
