As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will take a leading role on a multi-disciplinary team focused on developing and delivering sensor/detector systems for various customers, including the Department of Defense. You will take requirements, customer feedback, and engineering feedback to specify, integrate, and analyze subsystems including sensors, and mechanical, electrical, and software/firmware subsystems and associated requirements. You will drive and coordinate the design of subsystems and their integration into the total system design and development effort. You will work with Technical and Project Managers to develop and manage project schedules and deliverables (CDRLs) in a milestone-driven environment. You must be able to work with customers, communicate progress, and participate in meetings with customers. You must be able and willing to work hands-on with hardware/software systems to appropriately integrate components, validate designs/functionality, and test hardware. You will support efforts to develop and maintain a configuration management framework and implement engineering changes. You will provide lead support in system-level integration of sensors, hardware, firmware, and software, overseeing the integration process. You will create test plans to validate/verify systems performance in support of program milestones. You will troubleshoot system issues, drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions, and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, test reports, and user manuals. You will also create customer reports, status updates, and technical reports.
Hard Skills
- Experience with electronics hardware programs/projects/development
- Experience with DoD/DHS programs and the process of product development
- Experience with customer interactions, presentations, and working with external stakeholders
- Experience with sensor systems (e.g., gas/chemical, wearable medical, biomedical, EOIR, infrared, thermal, audio, vibration, industrial monitoring, sonic)
Soft Skills
