Salary Range: $65,000 to $90,000, based on relevant experience
We seek a detail-oriented and motivated Civil Design Technician to join our dynamic engineering team serving rural communities. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of civil design principles, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and engineers. You will play a crucial role in designing and drafting civil engineering plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare detailed civil engineering drawings and plans using AutoCAD and other design software.
- Assist in designing and laying out infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and site grading plans.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret design requirements and specifications.
- Review and revise design documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and company design standards.
- Provide technical support during project planning, implementation, and construction phases.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on design and project development.
- Lead, or have the ability to grow into leading, the company’s AutoCAD design standards, methods, and procedures and communicate to all of the company’s AutoCAD users.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Civil Design Technician or similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with civil engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as an Autodesk Certified Professional in AutoCAD or equivalent
- Experience with GIS software and other relevant engineering tools.
