Job Title: Civil EngineerLocation: Bristol, TN, Princeton, WV, Radford, VA, or Wise, VACompany Overview:A multi-office E/A firm with an established practice serving both public and private sector clients is seeking a Civil Engineer. This role is open in our Bristol, Tennessee, Princeton, West Virginia, or Radford or Wise, Virginia offices.Ideal Candidate:- 4 to 10+ years of experience in civil or environmental engineering- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or eligibility to sit for the exam- Strong background in utilities and treatment plant designRequired Qualifications:- BS in Civil Engineering or related field- PE registration in the Commonwealth of Virginia or ability to obtain licensure within 6 to 12 months- Strong proficiency in WaterCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D- U.S. citizenship- Knowledge of municipal and applicable local, state, and federal agency regulations to determine design parameters- Familiarity with agency procedures and regulations for municipal water and wastewater systems- Ability to develop conceptual layouts based on clients’ objectives and due diligence work- Experience managing, planning, and providing design or design oversight of water/wastewater line and plant projects- Ability to perform supporting calculations to demonstrate designs meet all applicable regulations- Experience preparing technical specifications and construction cost estimates- QA/QC of own designs and designs completed by others- Ability to recognize developing technical problems and initiate appropriate corrective actions- Responsibility for organizing all aspects of submittals and deliverables- Ability to monitor own work and that of project team to ensure budgets and schedules are met- As experience progresses, ability to train less experienced team members in technical design, processing, and company proceduresPreferred Qualifications:- Experience in the design of water distribution or sewerage collection systems- Experience in the design of water/wastewater treatment plants- EI with 4-5 years of experience and close to obtaining P.E.- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a friendly demeanor- Enthusiasm for generating and pursuing business opportunities- Strong self-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentIf you meet these qualifications and are ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.Â
