Overview
VTG is seeking a Project Engineer 3 to support work at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCP). The Project Engineer will be supporting a Land Based Engineering Site for installing and testing US Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical Systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly within the realm of land-based equipment and Hull Mechanical and Electrical. This role requires the ability to manage projects effectively, coordinate with various departments, and ensure the successful execution of engineering projects within the site.
What will you do?
The Project Engineer will be supporting a Land Based Engineering Site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly within the realm of land-based equipment and Hull Mechanical and Electrical. This role requires the ability to manage projects effectively, coordinate with various departments, and ensure the successful execution of engineering projects within the site.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Provide technical expertise in the field of land-based engineering, HM&E, including but not limited to machinery, propulsion equipment, and related electrical and mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, technicians, and operations staff to ensure project goals are met effectively.
- Coordinate resources including personnel, equipment, and materials required for project execution.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success and safety.
- Ensure that all engineering activities and projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and site-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation including drawings, specifications, reports, and other relevant records.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Do you have what it takes?
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Experience: Seven years of experience with the operation, repair, modification, maintenance of U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) and Electronic Systems and Equipment.
Secret Clearance Preferred.
