Job Requirements / Description
Duties
- Ensure health and safety (HSE) compliance for all aspects of the engineering design phase of the projects.
- Prepare and assist in administrative tasks as required for the assigned project(s) job setup, as well as all logs, submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs. Assist in research for prime contract change orders and subcontract change orders.
- Monitor safety and production for their assigned scope on the job site.
- Maintain communication with the client and the client's engineer as required.
- Work with the superintendent to evaluate the equipment needed for the project and ensure company-owned equipment is utilized as much as possible.
- Review the overall job cost of the project and prepare a monthly report analyzing the projected job costs and person-hour productions.
- Read and understand the plans and specifications regularly.
- Assist project management in directing additional job staff, such as project administrators and labor forces, in their duties.
- Direct and monitor the project submittal process timely.
- Assist in producing, directing, and monitoring the project schedule with the superintendent and/or supervisors. Provide monthly updates to the client or as directed within the guidelines of the prime contract.
- Assist project management in the project's process.
- Field Engineers must comply with all company standards, including:
- Workplace Injury & Illness Prevention Program
- Safety requirements
- Environmental practices
- OSHA 30 requirements.
Qualifications
- Formal education in an accredited Engineering or Construction Management program will substitute for a portion of the practical experience.
- Working experience with project schedules using industry-specific software (Primavera, Microsoft Project).
- Working knowledge of all current Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements and air quality control.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- PDF editor experience (Adobe, Bluebeam).
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable.
- Must be willing and able to travel for prolonged project assignments.
- Must be physically fit, able to lift up to 40 lbs.
