Job Description

The Environment and Health (E&H) Market is looking to hire key talent to support our growing geotechnical and geoenvironmental design practice. We are seeking a qualified entry level geotechnical engineer to report to our Environmental and Geoenvironmental Engineering Group in Syracuse NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of complex geotechnical and geoenvironmental designs. The selected candidate will collaborate with project teams to accomplish design goals.

Functional responsibilities and required skills/qualifications for this position are summarized below:
Your New Role

  • Assist in the preparation geotechnical engineering designs for the following:
    • Shallow foundation systems
    • Deep foundations systems
    • Retaining walls and excavation shoring systems design
    • Slope stability analysis and design
  • Asist in the preparation of geoenvironmental remedial designs for the following:
    • Landfills
    • Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Sites
    • Federal and State Superfunds
  • Provide field oversite on drill rigs conducting geotechnical investigations.
  • Provide awareness of safety in accordance with our philosophy, policies, and procedures that all accidents are preventable.
  • Engagement with internal and external clients.
Qualifications

About You

  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 0 to 5 years of experience in geotechnical and/or geoenvironmental design.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge related to common geotechnical design software (e.g., Ensoft, Geo-slope and Deep-Ex).
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal Environmental Regulations and Guidance.
  • Experience with geotechnical design and construction projects.
  • Passed Fundamental of Engineering (FE) (Engineer in Training (EIT) Exam
