Build your future with Fiore!The Site Project Engineer is responsible for providing support and assistance to Site Superintendents with managing schedules and overseeing and coordinating the daily field activities for all phases of a civil construction project. Additionally, the Site Project Engineer is instrumental in facilitating the immersion and integration of the field experience for the employee. This experience is invaluable in future positions with more responsibility and authority. This position starts with initial planning and ends at job completion with acceptance. The Site Project Engineer provides support in the oversight on all trade vendors and subcontractor work including Fiore’s tasks on Safety, Quality and Completion and/or Production.TOTAL COMPENSATION$76,500 to $108,900 annuallyESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESExamine contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations, and bring these to the attention of the CCM Site Superintendent, Project Manager or project owner to determine improvement needs or RFIs.Work with General Superintendent or Superintendent to schedule activities with all trades for coordination to achieve best project completion, understanding the overlap of trades and work so as to capitalize on potential.Provide leadership and establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships among all operating units, trades, vendors, and subcontractors.Research and recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences and/or errors.Support the management of changes and assist in leading the team through the change. Create new or adjusted plan or schedules to stay on budget and on path to completion.Identify project safety requirements and/or concerns compliant with OSHA and project needs and take corrective actions if necessary.Maintain and complete accurate daily and weekly project progress activity reports.Perform plan take-offsRecommend changes to work schedule in order to improve productivity.Ensure that each Subcontractor complies and maintains project specifications.Perform construction activities including, but not limited to, preparation, operation, closing of job site and proper testing of work completed.Ensure crew and subcontractor clean-up occurs on a daily and weekly basis.Take initiative to seek opportunity on the jobsite with tasks such as design, coordination, and quality items that can be put into actionDocument meetings (typically chaired by Site Superintendent) with all trades, schedules and job conditionsPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSRequired:Big picture perspective, including the ability to understand and prioritize needs and timelines in accordance with overall goalsSuperior communication and people skills, including the ability to drive impact without authority and maintain a perpetual sense of calm in the midst of potential chaosSolid understanding of physical engineering principles and application, including:Ability to read and interpret civil plan drawingsExcellent applied math skillsSuperb spatial reasoningAbility to apply these skills to resolve real world construction problemsInitiative and ownership, including a drive to learn, understand, and implement effectivelyStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including:Ability to resource knowledge of federal, state, and municipal building codes related to earthwork construction activities, excavation, demolition and utilitiesAbility to react to challenges quickly and effectively and follow-throughPerpetual working knowledge of assigned projects including specifications and scope requirements and use of the information to ensure project is constructed in accordance with intended design, quality and safety standardsWilling and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or holidays as required to accommodate customer and project demandsIntermediate level computer skills with experience using the Microsoft Office Suite and Project Scheduling SoftwareValid driver’s licenseHigh school diploma or GEDPreferred:Engineering, project management, construction management or similar trade degreeGeneral understanding of safety and OSHA complianceUnderstanding of budget project principlesLANGUAGE SKILLSThis position requires the ability to communicate in English with co-workers and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSThis job requires the ability to do and understand complex math equations.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWork functions require the physical ability and mobility to safely walk in uneven, undeveloped, slanted, and potentially muddy grounds as well as climb various pieces of equipment.
