Duties:
Systems Engineers are responsible for providing Windows Web server day-to-day support. They provide support to COTS tools and in-house applications, including day-to-day monitoring, management, and support of back-end infrastructure services, hardware, and software. Examples include Active Directory, client and server monitoring and management systems, IIS, F5, PKI hardware/software, and other technologies pertaining to web infrastructure. They also aid in managing network performance, maintaining security, evaluating current networks, identifying deficiencies, and making recommendations. Responsibilities include writing and managing scripts in a Windows environment and being ready to respond to on-call support as needed.
Specifically, the Systems Engineer 2:
- Performs varied aspects of administering, operating, and maintaining Windows Web server.
- Provides mid-level support for managing COTS tools and in-house applications.
- Provides mid-level support in managing web application infrastructure, load balancer, and day-to-day monitoring, management, and support of back-end infrastructure services, hardware, and software.
- Addresses managing web application infrastructure tickets.
- Under general guidance, manages network performance and maintains security.
- Manages PowerShell, Python, and other scripts as needed in a Windows environment.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience managing Windows Web server day-to-day support.
- Two (2) years of experience managing web application infrastructure.
- Two (2) years of experience administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a computer network.
- Two (2) years of experience working with computer network configurations, Windows Server operating systems, and the TCP/IP protocol.
- Two (2) years of experience administering network management protocols and related standard tools.
- Two (2) years of on-call support experience.
- One (1) year of experience deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment.
- One (1) year of experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions.
- One (1) year of experience troubleshooting Windows Web application servers and in-house applications.
- One (1) year of experience troubleshooting and managing COTS applications.
- One (1) year of experience creating Windows schedules and scripts.
