Position Description

CGI federal is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team within our Intel Community. You will be responsible for designing and building data pipelines using Python and AWS cloud infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of software development and testing principles and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. CGI Federal is looking for an individual with a passion for building high-quality, scalable applications and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and implement software features using Python and best practices.
2. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
3. Have good understanding of testing methodologies, e.g. unit, regression, performance, TDD etc.
4. Utilize testing frameworks to ensure code quality and functionality.
5. Develop and deploy data pipelines using Python and AWS services (e.g., Flask, S3, EC2, Lambda).
6. Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
7. Automate data processing tasks and workflows.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues.
9. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data accessibility.
10. Stay up to date on the latest data engineering tools and technologies.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. 3+ years of experience as Software Developer, or similar role.
3. Experience with Python programming for data manipulation and analysis.
4. Experience with SQL and proficiency in writing complex queries.
5. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles (OOP).
6. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
8. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Willingness to obtain and maintain as TS/SCI with poly clearance.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

1. Experience with popular Python web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
2. Familiarity with web development concepts (HTTP, REST APIs).
3. Familiar and understanding of Java, shell script, and CI/CD within a Linux environment.

Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800.00 - $185,800.00.
