Job Summary: Selux is looking for a motivated, creative, and skilled Software Engineer to join its fast-paced Instrument SW Engineering team to play a key role developing our Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) System. You will work closely with software teammates to develop robotic instrument software focused on microbiology workflows. You will interface with multidisciplinary teams to launch our products and expand their core capabilities. This role will start out with an expectation of daily work onsite to interact with instrumentation for research & development. There is an opportunity for flexibility and hybrid work in this role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & troubleshoot robotic sample handling instrument software using C#
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to find novel approaches to sample and consumable handling.
- Develop light weight instrument user interfaces for both end users & field service personnel.
- Write and maintain functional specifications in areas of responsibility.
- Write and maintain effective unit tests as part of test-driven development.
- Actively participate in code review process as author and engaged reviewer.
- Manage assigned tasks and contribute in scrums and sprint planning as part of an Agile process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/MS in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or similar field
- 4+ years of experience developing production level software
- Experience with controlling robotic or motion systems
- Experience with threading concepts and safe threading patterns
- A commitment to building testable solutions via the development of unit tests
- An independent thinker and problem-solver who is enthusiastic and collaborative
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Experience with real time programming (firmware code)
- Experience with liquid handling systems (Tecan, Hamilton, Festo, etc.)
- Application life cycle management (ALM) tools for (Jira, Helix) for requirements, issues, and testing
- Development and documentation in regulated (FDA or other) environment (IEC 62304, 21 CFR 820)
