The hardware test engineering team is used to build out the continuous integration infrastructure for Zoox. This team stays abreast of the latest vehicle architecture and produces test asset designs to match. There is tight integration with manufacturing, operations, and logistics teams to enable designs to transition to scale. The team is in charge of ensuring these assets work well for customers, are easy to maintain by operations teams, and provide support and troubleshooting for incidents.
In this role, you will:
- Work cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, system architecture, firmware development, hardware-in-the-loop, and firmware validation teams to define and review test infrastructure design
- Manage the build queue and coordinate with manufacturing teams to address changing
- Lead efforts to improve documentation and ensure logistics standards throughout the team utilizing industry standard tools (Catia, Enovia, etc)
- Provide updates and report out progress on support and troubleshooting for design assets
- BS degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering
- Hands-on technical experience leading small teams in debugging software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices
- Experience developing test fixtures and systems throughout the design process from requirements, design, design review, build and build review
- Experience with common lab equipment and data acquisition equipment (DACs, debuggers, power supplies, multimeters, etc.)
- Use of tools for meticulous documentation standards for harnessing, BOM, assembly, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Linux environment
- Bug and issue management experience using Jira or similar tools
- Experience working with automotive communication protocols, such as CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, etc
- Python / Pytest experience
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $190,000 to $220,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
