SharePoint Developer

Position Overview:

Harris County Universal Services is looking to hire a talented SharePoint developer to create customized SharePoint solutions for Harris County. As a SharePoint developer, you will be responsible for configuring and customizing SharePoint systems according to company specifications, building scalable web applications, writing and modifying code, debugging software, and training staff.

To ensure success as a SharePoint developer, you should have extensive knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office software, proficiency with front-end programming languages, and the ability to solve complex software issues. Ultimately, a top-class SharePoint developer can create clean, scalable SharePoint websites that meet all design and functionality requirements. This role provides the opportunity to engage in full application lifecycle as part of a scrum team. Must work with internal teams and external departments to design, develop and maintain software.

Job Duties:

• Meeting with the design team to review website and application requirements.
• Setting tasks and development goals.
• Configuring the company SharePoint systems to specified requirements.
• Developing new web components using XML, .NET, SQL, and C#.
• Designing, coding, and implementing scalable applications.
• Extending SharePoint functionality with forms, web parts, and application technologies.
• Testing and debugging code.
• Reviewing website interface and software stability.
• Troubleshooting software issues.
• Maintaining and updating SharePoint applications.
• Providing systems training to staff and customers.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors in computer science or software engineering with + three (3) years of SharePoint experience or any degree with + five (5) years of SharePoint experience.

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):

• Extensive knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Frameworks.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML, jQuery, SQL Server, and Web Services.
• High-level coding skills.
• Ability to solve complex software issues.
• Ability to project manage.
• Detail-oriented.
• Self-motivated.

Education:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

Experience:

• 5 Years Experience working with SharePoint, SharePoint Online, PowerApps, Power Flow, Teams.

Certification:

• MOSS or WSS certification.

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):

• Must possess excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• The ability to interact with staff at all levels.
• Strong knowledge of personal computers and various software, specifically Microsoft Office.

Must have:

• Hands-on experience designing, building, delivering, and supporting in SharePoint solutions (acceptable versions include SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2016, SharePoint 2019).
• Understanding of SharePoint architecture and SharePoint security model.
• Experience with SharePoint Online, Office 365, Teams, and Azure platforms.
• Experience working with each of the following Microsoft technologies: Windows Server 2012R2 or greater, SQL Server 2012 or greater, Active Directory, IIS v7 or greater.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies like Scrum or XP.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge or ability to learn Sharegate and Info Wise Ultimate Forms.
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Power Platform.
• Hands-on experience building PowerApps and Power Automation flows.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

• Monday - Friday | 40hrs
• Regular Full-time | Onsite Position
• Hybrid Schedule
• May be required to work more than forty hours during the workweek and/or weekends or on-call 24 hours a day to meet special projects or deadlines.
• Subject to performing other duties as assigned.
• Must live or plan to live in the Houston Texas metropolitan area.
