Job Description - Graphic Designer (240006V5)
ABOUT THIS POSITION:
The Secretary of the Commonwealth is seeking a graphic designer for an in-house graphics studio to support multiple divisions within the office. The Graphic Communications Division is responsible for print materials and website visual components for all the divisions of the office including Elections, Securities, Public Records, Archives, and the Commonwealth Museum. Occasional photo and video projects are also performed.
Representative Tasks:
- Design printed materials including brochures, signs, press conference materials, and museum exhibits.
- Produce forms using InDesign for export to accessible PDFs.
- Printing and mounting of large-format pieces.
- Photography and video shoots.
- Meet and work with multiple internal clients.
- Provide PDFs for in-house printing and work with staff to assure that projects are printed correctly and on time.
Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Proficiency in the following hardware:
- Apple Mac workstation
- Workgroup printers and plotters
- Scanners
- Adobe Creative Cloud Apps (in order of importance)
- InDesign
- Acrobat
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- Dreamweaver (including basic HTML, CSS)
- Premiere Pro
- Microsoft Office
