Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Game Designer to join our team on a part-time, hourly basis with a option to move into full time relatively immediately. In this role, you will be responsible for surveying the gaming market and using our insights to create concise, one-page game design concepts. You’ll play a key role in identifying trends and coming up with new, innovative ideas that align with our focus on kids’ entertainment and UGC platforms like Roblox and UEFN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research on gaming trends, specifically within UGC platforms like Fortnite UEFN, Roblox, and other emerging environments.
- Use insights to develop one-page game design concepts that resonate with kids and young audiences.
- Collaborate with our team to refine game ideas based on feedback and market viability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in pop culture, memes, and VR technology to create designs that are relevant and engaging.
- Explore and experiment with VR experiences and mechanics that work well for kids and UGC platforms.
- Understand what games and game modes perform well in Roblox and why they perform well
- Be able to prototype game pitches quickly
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with UGC platforms, particularly Fortnite UEFN and Roblox.
- Strong understanding of pop culture, kids’ trends, and internet memes.
- Knowledge of VR game design and experience with VR environments is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly in concise, one-page documents.
- Creative problem-solver with a passion for designing fun and engaging game experiences for young audiences.
